CPAP, Sleep Therapy and Supplies

CPAP Machines

Continuous Positive Airway Pressure, or CPAP, machines are the most commonly prescribed treatment for obstructive sleep apnea. Your doctor prescribes a set pressure of airflow that is applied to our airway.  At Jones Medical, each patient recieves a unit that is compact and quiet with at least a one year manufacturer's warranty.

BiLevel Machines

These units are similiar to CPAP with one difference. Instead of having one set inhalation pressure, your doctor also prescribes an exhalation pressure.  This aids in patient comfort and is also helpful for certain other sleep disorders.  Most insurance plans require a trial use of CPAP before Bi-Level can be used.

Mask, Tubing and Filters Replacements

Once you are setup on your machince, it's important to replace your mask and related supplies periodically.  This helps prevent infection as well as keeping your machine up-to-date.  Each insurance plan has a different schedule when they will pay for replacements, so check with our office about your particular plan.

When selecting your provider of CPAP equipment, you should consider the following important points:

Select a reputable provider - The level of experience and expertise varies greatly among medical equipment companies.  We’re proud of our level of care for each and every patient we serve and our staff has over fifty years of combined experience.  We're members of numerous trade organizations and are licensed by the Alabama State Boards of Pharmacy and Durable Medical Equipment.

Get the best equipment - There are literally dozens of CPAP brands to choose from. They vary from basic to the very advanced.

Make sure to request a CPAP unit that is small – At some point you’ll need to travel with your unit and a compact unit will be easier to pack. Also, a small unit won't take up much space at bedside. We work with the best manufacturers such as Resmed, Respironics, and Fisher-Paykel.

Ask about mask availability – You’ll probably have a nasal mask fitted to you during the sleep study, and that’s a good place to start. However, as you progress, you might find that other masks work better. It’s good to know that you have options. Jones Medical carries a wide variety of quality mask systems – in stock for your convenience.
